The TMD Remedy approach
Your symptoms, your comfort, your care.
TMD Remedy combines medical acupuncture, myofascial release and intraoral muscle release in a personalised approach to jaw and facial care.
I begin by listening to your concerns, reviewing your medical history and assessing relevant areas of tenderness, tension and movement. Together, we discuss which techniques are most appropriate for you to reach your goals.
Facial Massage
Considered facial massage techniques, creating space to unwind while working gently around the face and jaw fascia. Pressure and pace are tailored to your comfort.
Myofascial & Trigger Point Release
Targeted hands-on techniques around the face, jaw, neck and shoulders, focusing on areas of muscle tightness and tenderness. Pressure is adapted to your needs and comfort.
Intraoral Muscle Release
Gentle, targeted work inside the mouth using examination gloves, to release tension from the muscles responsible for clenching. Every technique is explained beforehand and carried out with your consent, at your pace.
Medical Acupuncture
Very fine, sterile, single-use needles placed at carefully selected points, where appropriate and with your consent, as part of your personalised treatment plan.
Care Beyond Your Appointment
Practical self-care advice and regular reviews help guide your treatment. Where appropriate, your care can complement support from your dentist or other healthcare professionals.
Because clinical care can still feel like self-care.
Dental Expertise
As a GDC-registered dental professional with over 8 years’ experience and training through the British Dental Acupuncture Society, treatments are informed by an in-depth understanding of the muscles, joints and anatomy of the head, face and neck.
Personalised Treatment
No two patients are the same. Every treatment plan is tailored to your symptoms, goals and response to treatment, with ongoing reassessments to ensure you continue to make progress.
Evidence-Informed Care
Treatments are combined using current evidence, clinical reasoning and practical self-management advice to help address the underlying cause of pain, not just the symptoms.
